NOTES:
1. The format has CHANGED. It will be round robin style and then the results of that will determine the rankings for a single elimination tournament. We are guaranteed to play four games. (This means a team could go undefeated in the round robin and then lose their first game in the tournament and be out.)
2. There is a list of illegal bats. At the top of this page, right under "Softball Tourn--Sat. Aug. 6th" there's a small box--click on "Notes" for the list. It includes images.
3. You are allowed to bring in a regular water bottle or a small round personal cooler; however, all other coolers, gatorade, etc. are NOT allowed. This is to push the concession stand. Period. They've been very clear, if you bring in a cooler, etc. you will be asked to remove it.
CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT
GROUNDRULES
1. Each game will last 50 minutes OR seven innings OR until one team leads by ten runs after the fifth inning OR until one team leads by 15 runs after the third inning.
2. To speed up play, each batter will come to the plate with one ball and one strike. Guys and girls must alternate in the batting order.
3. If a guy is walked, the girl following him has the option to bat or walk. If the girl chooses to bat, the guy still gets second base.
4. Each team should consist of at least ten players. A woman must lead off the batting order at the start of each game.
5. No more than ten can play in the field at one time and an even guy/girl ratio must be maintained if possible. Players may be positioned anywhere in the field with the exceptions of the pitcher and catcher who must play in their legal positions.
6. If a team has six guys/four girls in the field, a man MUST play the catcher position. Teams with an uneven number of guys and girls must still alternate in the batting order.
7. Substitutions can be made at any time and as many times as desired.
8. Base runners may not leave the base until the pitch crosses the plate or is hit. Runners who leave early could be called out.
9. Bases for overthrown balls will be awarded at the umpire’s discretion (the base the runner is headed to when the ball went out of play, plus one). Interference, lost balls, etc. will be judged individually.
10. Base runners may not interfere with a fielder fielding a ball. In all other circumstances, the base runner has the right of way.
11. To avoid injury, the “surrender or slide” rule applies; i.e. base runners involved in close plays at a base must either surrender the out or attempt to slide. Avoidable collisions will result in the runner being called out.
