A couple of years ago there was an amazing story that took place in New York City.  A frantic mother was in a third story window with the building ablaze.

It looked as if they were going to have to go to desperate measures to save the mother, but before they could rescue her, they needed to get her baby to safety.

You guessed it.  They told her to toss her baby.  You can imagine her dilemna and mixture of emotions.  As impossible as it sounds . . . she made up her mind in a second.

A fire fighter caught her baby perfectly and gently.  He's a true hero.

Sometimes at Christmas we begin to think like that.  We see things that make us feel like we have to rush in and save baby Jesus.

The irony of it all is that we can't save Jesus.

He has to save us.
